This week’s live music pick showcases the life and legacy of producer/rapper/musician J Dilla. Working with the likes of The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest, Janet Jackson, Busta Rhymes and many others, Dilla, who passed away from a blood disorder in 2006, is credited with influencing a generation of the beatmakers of hip hop. Featuring Super Duty Tough Work, a Winnipeg based live hip-hop ensemble, along with locals featuring guest appearances by Eekwol, The North West Kid of Mob Bounce, Chapter Thrive, T-Rhyme and more, the first Saskatoon Dilla Day arrives on Saturday Feb 11, at Amigos Cantina.
