Gunner & Smith added to OMFEST line-up

Folk rock group the second act announced for Mar. 2 festival

Gunner & Smith, a Saskatoon-based country-tinged folk group, have been added to this year’s OMFEST.

The group, which is headed up by front man Geoff Smith, joins Ones on the March 2 line-up.

Although the group is still relatively new – the line-up solidified in 2011 – Gunner & Smith have several releases under their collective belts, including the EP Compromise is a Loaded Gun.

In addition to some upcoming touring, Smith says that the band plans on heading back to the studio.

“Our upcoming plans include recording two songs in February at the Avenue Recording Company with Jordan Smith,” he says. “That project is being funded by the SaskMusic Investment Program. You can listen to the demos on our sonicbids page if you want a sneak peak.”

Gunner & Smith will also be playing at Vangelis on Jan. 19 along with Economics, Magna Carta and Jeans Boots as part of the Elsethings Festival.
