The One Take Super 8 Event
One of Saskatchewan’s most endearing film projects is returning to the Roxy Theatre on Tuesday. The One Take Super 8 Event features super cute, lovely, blurry, amazing films shot on super 8 that have never been seen before, not even by the filmmakers. The best part? It’s free, so don’t be a ding-dong.
Woolworm, Tomorrow Starts Today, Waitress and Thawed Out
What could be better than this: Skateboarding while punk/shoegaze bands from all over Canada play in the background. Come shred this Friday at the Saskatoon Indoor Skatepark.
Adolyne, Blue Youth, Soul Mates and Anemone
Blue Youth are one of our favourite new bands. No joke. Hailing from Regina, this three-piece wrecking crew destroyed during their set at Sled Island this year, and now they are bringing their jackhammer attack to Amigos this Saturday. Also, there are a lot of other good bands playing, soooo that’s a thing as well.
The Garrys, Ellen Froese & the Hot Toddies, Wolf Willow, The Karpinka Bros
Taking place at legendary Manitou Beach venue Danceland, “home of the world famous floating dance floor built on horsehair,” is a night of summer whirlwind romance, sneaky flasky, coy dance moves, and getting sand in your shorts at midnight. Also, some really whip-ass bands will be there as well, including The Garrys and The Karpinka Bros! This Friday at Manitou Beach. Come spa!
Suburban Hypocrites, Thawed Out and Shark Weak
More punk rock than you can shake a stick at. Come battle dance at the Black Cat Tavern on Thursday, or maybe just shake your butt a little while playing the pinning-est of balls.
