Several Sask. bands amongst Calgary’s Sled Island Festival Line-Up
Editor’s Note – This article is part of our all-week coverage on festivals in Saskatchewan that promote local music. Check back for more coverage, including a preview of Saskatoon’s Mazz Fest!
Saskatoon’s Haunted Souls, Jeans Boots, Foam Lake and Castle River will be joining in on the multi-day, multi-venue, multi-drunk-a-thon that is Calgary’s insane-o Sled Island Festival.
Additionally, Saskatoon’s excellent community radio station CFCR 90.5 will once again be hosting their own showcase at Tubby Dog, featuring the aforementioned bands.
Concurrently, my heart remembers the last Sled Island CFCR showcase, when I watched Shooting Guns, Feral Children, Foggy Notions and Friends Electric and I ate a Tubby Dog hotdog while daydrunk and then attempted smoking a cigarette.
I am lucky I am not dead.
Ominocity plans on bringing you extensive coverage of the festival, including plenty of backstage hi-jinx and antics, as well as photos and janky essays.
For those interested in the mayhem of last year, including the time I got to watch the guitarist of Ravonettes drink a beer with the drummer from Dead Meadow, check out our Sled Island Diaries – PART ONE and PART TWO.
