The Radiation Flowers at Beaumont Records
February 27, 2015 @ 7:00 pm
On February 27th we are proud to present Dig! as the next film in our monthly film series!
Dig! – Tracks the tumultuous rise of two talented musicians, Anton Newcombe, leader of the Brian Jonestown Massacre; and Courtney Taylor, leader of the Dandy Warhols; dissecting their star-crossed friendship and bitter rivalry. Both are hell-bent on staging a self-proclaimed revolution of the music industry. Through their loves and obsessions, gigs and recordings, arrests and death threats, uppers and downers–and ultimately to their chance at a piece of the profit-driven music business–how each handles his stab at success is where the relationship frays and burns. DIG! is about both musicians’ love and obsession, gigs and recordings, arrests and death threats, uppers and downers – their choices between art and industry, which unfold with the passage of time.
After the screening we will also have The Radiation Flowers (Formerly Powder Blue) performing in the shop
The Radiation Flowers – Hailing from Saskatoon, SK, Canada, deep in the bowels of the near arctic country side, Powder Blue (PB) have unleashed their own unique blend of chilled psychedelic rock and shoegaze grunge. Named one of the ‘Best Psychedelic Albums of 2013’ by The Active Listener, “Dream In Black” is a haunting score of dark keys, lush reverbed guitars and warm harmonies that fashion a soundtrack to both your dreams and nightmares.
Doors open at 7pm February 27th At Beaumont Film & Record. Tickets are $10
