On Sale April 1st.
Saskatchewan singer-songwriter-pianist Jeffery Straker performs over 100 shows per year, has recorded for CBC’s ‘Canada Live’ and has toured internationally as far as Peru, Chile and Mexico. His tour stops span the range from intimate house concerts to recent sold-out shows with Canadian symphony orchestras including a sold-out TCU Place with the Saskatoon Symphony in 2013. Canadian Musician Magazine has said, “Very much an artist to watch” while The Chicago Free Press has written, “Rufus Wainwright, and k.d. lang are among the Canadians making essential and beautiful music-add Jeffery Straker to that list”.
Following Jeffery’s 2012 critically acclaimed folk-pop release “Vagabond” & his 2014 fan favorite recoridng “Live with CBC Radio”, he released his latest album: “North Star Falling”. The album rose to #9 on the iTunes singer-songwriter charts and has seen Jeffery performing non-stop across Canada.
A recent career boost came from Jeffery’s win at the prestigious Vina Del Mar International Song Festival in Chile (the largest music festival in the Spanish speaking world) where he performed live to 20,000 people and to a TV audience of 100,000,000 around the globe. He’s recently had songs placed in film and TV, and is known to many as a regular cast member of Telemiracle.
Originally from small town Saskatchewan, the classically trained pianist was raised by a church organist mother and auctioneer father. He swears he was born under the piano on the family farm. He’s delighted to be making his Broadway Theatre debut with the Saskatoon Symphony Chamber Players interpreting his songs in an orchestral setting for one night only. http://www.jeffstraker.com
