What to do in Saskatoon: Sounds Like, SUUNS, Jonathan Richman October 1 - 8, 2018

Sounds Like

Sounds Like (An Audio Festival) is about to bring a series of audio-based installations, performances and workshops via a number of artists from across Canada, USA, Japan, and the UK. Performances start this Thursday and go on throughout the weekend at a number of spaces and venues. Definitely come out for a unique experience.

SUUNS and Frigs

Montreal’s SUUNS will be returning to Saskatoon this Saturday to Amigos. Hopefully you’ve previously caught one of their banger shows from MoSo Fest, but the real gem here is Toronto’s Frigs, who are a noisy blast of jarring 90s’-sounding awesomeness. Come!

Jonathan Richman

This is a pretty wild one – Jonathan Richman, a founding member of Modern Lovers, will be playing at the Roxy Theatre on Saturday. Also, Tommy Larkins on drums! And I bet there will be popcorn that you can eat as well. Bonus!

Forbidden Dimension, New Jacobin Club

Long-running Calgary spook rock group Forbidden Dimension rarely seems to make it to Saskatoon, so it’s super dope that they are making it out this Thursday to the Black Cat Tavern. Plus there are some cool local bands as well, so why not?

Earthless w/ Heavy Trip, The Switching Yard + Mad Alchemy Light

Earthless are super sweet sludge rock groove, but the real winner here is the The Mad Alchemy Liquid Light Show, which is going to blast Amigos with all sorts of psychedelic lights and lasers and lunacy! Friday!
