Panago Pizza delivers variety to Saskatoon pizza lovers

Is there anything more beautiful than a mountain of melted cheese atop a hot, fresh pizza?

While there are a number of cities across Canada and beyond that are known for their pizza – think mountains of toppings, a variety of flavours, golden crusts and that oh-so picture perfect blend of mozzarella and cheddar – Saskatoon is no slouch when it comes to supplying those who have a craving for carbs and cheese. While we aren’t exactly loaded with the typical pizza- by-the-slice joints that line Commercial Drive in Vancouver, or the tiny bustling grab-and-go pizzerias of downtown Toronto, for the most part, there are a reliable number of vendors who are dishing up fresh favourites and gourmet options.

Even better, the options seem to be growing all the time, which is perfect for those of us who can’t seem to get enough of the gooey, cheesy stuff.

A long-time player in Saskatoon’s pizza scene, Panago Pizza is helping to fill that niche between fan favourites like Pepperoni, Ham and Pineapple as well as unique options like Steak Mushroom Melt and (our personal favourite) the vegetarian Meat-free Pepperoni.

In other words, Panago’s a big city pie that’s close to home and caters to every taste.

Aside from pizzas, there are half a dozen salads including an option to craft your own fresh creation. Aside from the classic Caesar and Garden options, there is also an Antipasto salad featuring toppings like mixed grilled vegetables, grape tomatoes, kalamata olives and goat cheese as well as a Steak Arugula salad.

But while things like salads and breadsticks are a staple for many of Saskatoon’s finest pizzerias, Panago’s options always seem to go above and beyond.

While you could always get vegan-friendly pies at a number of stores around the city, for the most part you had to order them without cheese. Panago’s addition of vegan options is a nice change for those of us who are dairy-free – check out the Vegan Deluxe Pepperoni topped with Daiya cheeze. There is even an option for those who eschew gluten, as Panago serves a Gluten-Smart option on a smartly-shaped square crust.

And it’s easy, especially when you’re in need of a slice stat or you are out late, Panago is open until 1am on Friday’s and Saturday’s. So no matter your tastes, you can be sure that you’ll have your pie cravings satisfied.
