Regina bass and drum duo team up with hip-hop artist
We missed it back when it was released, but Regina’s Spoils released a single called “Weird”. Here’s the catch: it features Rubiks, a Queen City hip-hop artist.
And it’s kind of awesome.
Spoils, who were recently in Seattle to do some recording with Matt Bayles – the guy who made records for a bunch of decent bands like Mastodon, Isis, Minus the Bear, The Sword, etc. – contribute their usual throbbing bass and blistering rhythms. However, mid-way through, Rubiks cuts in and adds some of his own pontifications. Can’t wait to hear what the Spoils came up with in Seattle with Bayles.
In the meantime, you should also check out Rubiks’ Volume II Red Moon Music.
