Regina band gears up for North American tour

Royal Red Brigade, a punk rock quartet from Regina, is gearing up for a North American tour in May, along with an appearance in Montreal’s Pouzza Fest.

The group, which shares a member with Kleins 96, is touring in support of their latest full-length album Give Into The Violence, which was released on Regina’s Harvest King Records.

And it pretty much rules.

On their first full-length album, Give Into The Violence, the Royal Red Brigade snarls and sprays through 12 tracks of raw, stompy punk. Although tempo-wise they don’t really commit one way or the other, I personally was digging the slower tunes more – there’s something so dirty about guitar riffs that clang and drag like the bumper on my first car.

Incidentally, the band possesses the same sleazy, sardonic vocal delivery found in bands like Murder City Devils, albeit with more prairies vitriol and spittle.

Royal Red Brigade will be appearing in Regina twice this weekend in advance of their tour.

Also, you should really add a Saskatoon date to that tour. Not sayin’ I’m just sayin’.
