Regina musicians drop latest installment of Sunset Sessions
Regina instrumentalists The Lazy MKs have teamed up with Andy Shauf for their latest single “Covered In Dust”. The song is the fourth release in The Lazy MKs’ ongoing digital release Sunset Sessions series.
On “Covered In Dust”, Shauf’s angelic boy vocals dance lightly over hazy, post rock guitar. The song also features the 13th Avenue Strings, which adds a nice dimension over the slight feedback-y guitar parts.
According to steel player Etienne Soulodre, a different version of this track was released on Shauf’s last record, entitled The Bearer of Bad News.
“We’ve also pressed a small run of physical discs of the first four tunes in the Sunset Sessions for sending out to radio,” he says.
Past Sunset Sessions collaborators include Pile O’ Bones Brass Band and Belle Plaine amongst others.
Both The Lazy MKs and Andy Shauf will be playing at JunoFest in Regina on April 19 and 20 respectively.
