Local rockers uncover the mysterious distinction beyond a gold record
Saskatoon’s The Sheepdogs have gone platinum, having sold 80,000 copies of their 2010 full-length album Learn & Burn.
The ‘Dogs were also awarded a Gold Digital Download distinction, having sold 40,000 ‘units’ of their song “I Don’t Know”.
So what’s next for the shaggy foursome?
According to their label’s website, The Sheepdogs will have to go through nine rounds of platinum before hitting ‘diamond’ status, which is 800,000 albums sold.
The Sheepdogs released their most recent album on September 4, 2012, where it debuted as the #1 album in Canada. They will be touring through the UK and Europe this spring.
