Local doom instrumentalists in line for $30,000 prize
Saskatoon’s Shooting Guns have made the 2012 Polaris Prize long list for their album Born To Deal in Magic 1952-1976.
For those not in the know, the Polaris Music Prize is a music award annually given to the best full-length Canadian album-based on artistic merit, regardless of genre, sales, or record label. The award comes with a hefty $30,000 cash prize.
That could buy a lot of you know what!
In addition to Born To Deal In Magic… the group has also released several 7″‘s with various bands.
Ominocity would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to Shooting Guns, as well as another thank you for headlining this year’s OMFEST.
