Saskatoon’s MoSo Conference drops festival line-up
MoSo Conference, a joint indie music festival and social media conference, has launched their website which reveals a preliminary line-up of performers.
Featuring the likes of Bry Webb, Cadence Weapon, Teen Daze, along with a bevy of local performers such as Adolyne, Vaero and Feral Children, MoSo runs from June 13 – 16 and is a multi-venue festival.
MoSo is one of the first festivals of its kind in Saskatoon. Comparable to Calgary’s Sled Island and Halifax’s Pop Explosion, organizers are hoping to kick start the local scene even further by giving a platform for up-and-coming musicians to perform alongside world class acts. The result of these similarly-minded festivals have upped the ante for bands in each respective local scene, and have helped launch those musicians to the next echelon of their careers.
The organizers of both the fest and the conference really believe in the people Saskatoon and Saskatchewan”
Festival Director Rich Taylor, who was one of the masterminds of the now-defunct vivefest, says that Saskatoon is ready for its own premiere indie music spectacle.
“The organizers of both the fest and the conference really believe in the people Saskatoon and Saskatchewan,” says Taylor. “Whether those people are professionals in the field of marketing and technologies or musicians. MoSo is setting out to support and showcase the creativity that’s going on in Saskatoon and to give the people working here a chance to learn from world class talent. That world class talent can be in the form of an app developer or a dope MC.”
More information on MoSo Fest can be found on their website. Additionally, Ominocity will be running additional coverage in the days to come.
