Radiation Flowers unveil “Psychic Attack”: Premiere

Radiation Flowers are about to drop a full-length, self-titled album.

And in celebration of this new music-thing, they let us have a listen to their new single “Psychic Attack.”

The track, the first recorded material to surface featuring the group’s latest incarnation, features rumbly garage rock riffs abounds amidst some along with unwashed fuzz noise freakouts. The vocals are soda-sweet, and there’s a nice layer of shimmer, but, most pleasantly, there’s a skeletal backbone of bubble gum shimmy that keeps this all-too-short-and-sweet tune rolling.

Want more? Yeah, so do we.

You’ll just have to wait until the CD release show on July 25, says band leader Shelby Gaudet.

Radiation Flowers has a fairly solid summer lined-up with several shows, including the aforementioned album release party.

Saturday, June 20 – Amigos – MoSo – w/ Ponteix, Birdstriking and Suuns & Jerusalem in my Heart
Thursday, June 25 – Tubby Dog – w/ The Avulsions, Acronyms and Susan
Sunday, June 28 – Broken City Patio – w/ Whimm, Dream Whip and Energy Slime

Oh yeah, in case you were wondering…

“We had to change our name because the Powder Blues Band contacted us asking to change it to avoid legal action,” says band leader Shelby Gaudet.

Now you know.
