Saskatoon Festival combines extreme sports and music with proceeds going to charity
It pretty much goes without saying that one of the best locales to enjoy anything to do with summer in Saskatoon is down by the river. Thankfully, the organizers of WakeRide, an event that combines extreme sports and music in a festival-like setting, have taken note of this.
The event begins today, Friday, July 6, and runs until Sunday, July 8.
Located in Victoria Park the festival hosts a variety of extreme sports throughout the weekend including wakeboarding, freestyle motorcross, skateboarding and a slider pool.
Having raised over $90,000 for local youth programs in Saskatoon in the past two years, this time around WakeRide is importing several internationally acclaimed touring acts, including MSTRKRFT, Chali2Na of Jurassic 5, K’naan and Regina’s Library Voices.
