Saskatoon’s Young James release new CD entitled Cruel Times
Rumour has it that Saskatoon indie folk-bluegrass band Young James got someone in France to mix and master their latest, home-recorded full-length album over the internet for, well, let’s say a really reasonable rate.
And it sounds phenomenal.
Entitled Cruel Times, the album sounds appropriately road worn and lovelorn while somehow retaining anthemic qualities. The four-piece come out swinging with the track “More Give (Than Take)” and keep a relatively forward momentum via shuffling country-infused acoustic guitar ballads.
The group’s second release, Cruel Times is a welcome addition to an increasingly robust and self-aware Saska-centric scene.
