It’s time for an open community stage! Bring whatever you’d like to share: poems, musings, open letters to our elected officials, covers – whatever fits in about 5 minutes! Sign up at the merch table. We’ll also have a feature set from the very talanted Steve Locke.
Steve Locke is a Winnipeg writer, poet, and arts educator. As a spoken word poet, he has featured on community and festival stages across Canada, including the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word, The Victoria Spoken Word Festival, and the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. On the page, his work has appeared in Oratorealis, CV2, Poetry is Dead, and Prairie Fire magazines. Most recently, his work has taken him to classrooms where he has been engaging with youth on developing confidence in self-expression through spoken word workshops.
