No one turned away for lack of funds.
We’re back at it with a community stage to kick off a jam packed October! Our feature is Elise Pallagi, a member of this year’s Saskatoon Slam Team, as she’s just about to head to Peterborough for the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word.
Elise Pallagi is a 35-year-old multi-disciplinary performance artist from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Elise’s work focuses on her personal experience and struggles as a transgender woman growing up and living in the Canadian prairie. Combining elements of Vaudeville, Burlesque and roller derby with slam poetry, she likes to convey both emotional authenticity and relatability in her work, that both moves audiences and touches hearts and minds.
