The Northern Pikes at The Broadway Theatre

November 25, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Canadian rock heroes The Northern Pikes are back with a vengeance, with big news for the fall of 2017. The band is heading on the road for a full national tour, their first since the early 2000’s, and celebrating the 30th anniversary of their classic debut, Big Blue Sky.

The gold-certified album, home to hit singles Teenland, Things I Do For Money and Dancing In A Dance Club, is getting the deluxe treatment in a lavish, three-disc set. The original album is on disc 1, disc 2 features 10 previously unreleased songs, and disc 3 is a previously unreleased live show from 1986 at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern.

With all that new music to play, plus a classic album to celebrate, the group (bassist Jay Semko, guitarist Bryan Potvin, drummer Don Schmid) felt the call of the road once more, so they’ve scheduled a 30-plus date tour from coast to coast, starting in October. Original member Merl Bryck stepped away from touring in 2006, so the band’s friend Kevin Kane from The Grapes of Wrath is joining them.

The Northern Pikes have released eight studio & two live albums in their 33 year career, along with three best-of albums. Platinum certified Snow In June includes the hit singles She Ain’t Pretty, Girl With A Problem & Kiss Me You Fool.
