Soul Picnic at Kinsmen Hall

Kick the fall season of music with our 4th annual Blues Party and BBQ on Saturday, September 6th at the Kinsmen Hall (formerly the Cosmo Senior Citizens Centre) on 11th St E. The food will be ready at 6pm and the music by SOUL PICNIC will start at 8pm Admission will be $10 at the door, and the food and bar tickets will be $5.

This will be an opportunity for members to renew their memberships, to find out how to get involved with organizing the 2015 Saskatoon Blues Festival, and to share stories of the various summer festivals and events.

Soul Picnic is a powerful four piece Saskatoon band. Driven by gritty hard edged vocals, two guitar attack and a solid driving rhythm section this is a group that knows how to deliver. With a diverse song selection and an emphasis on having fun. Soul Picnic is sure to be a crowd favorite. Jack Miller started playing and singing at an early age. Jack put his first band together in high school and never looked back. Playing professionally for over 35 years doing a variety of styles such as country rock, R&B, soul and funk, hard rock, blues and top 40, Jack is a seasoned and comfortable entertainer, singer and performer. Bob Fisher has played drums for over 30 years and has toured extensively throughout the prairies with acts such as Just Junior, Reed Wilson and many others. Solid and groove oriented, Bob anchors the band with dynamics and versatility. Warren Baier is an experienced bass player with a variety of influences, from rock to country and everything in between. As a founding member of the group Calm and with a diverse musical background of over 30 years, Warren is the engine that helps to drive this group. Warren also complements the group with his vocals and harmonies. Doug Ehrlich is a guitar player known for his smooth rhythms and blazing guitar leads. Doug has over 30 years experience performing with acts such as The 100th Meridian, Educated Guess and a host of others. Well versed in many styles and with countless hours of performing experience, Doug is the final key to making the group as powerful as it is.

They will deliver a good night of blues and dance tunes.
