SKELETONWITCH’s vicious live show and fierce blue-collar ethic have helped to establish the band as torchbearers of today’s metal scene. They have logged countless miles on the road crisscrossing the nation with the likes of Municipal Waste, Job For A Cowboy, Amon Amarth and Dimmu Borgir, and they’ll do so again this fall when they hit the road with Children of Bodom and The Black Dahlia Murder. The band also made high-profile appearances at the 2008 New England Metal and Hardcore Fest, this year’s Scion Rock Fest in Atlanta (along with Mastodon, High on Fire, etc.) and South By Southwest, and were handpicked by Glenn Danzig for his 2008 Blackest of the Black tour.
Skull Vultures. The most powerful scavengers to ever exist.
“This creative duo has been able to craft something unique and inspiring, heavy metal that establishes a new set of rules and paradigms. Though it fits in with the old guard, Skull Vultures seem to be pushing the envelope into a brave new world.”
The Thrash/Death-Metal band ‘Untimely Demise’ was formed in April 2006 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan by brothers Matthew and Murray Cuthbertson. The group has made their mark on the metal music scene by incorporating the influences of genre-leaders Megadeth, Death, Arch Enemy, Testament, Exodus, and so forth into an ambitious package that places a paramount focus on guitar-work and musicianship. In 2008 the ensemble began working with ex-Megadeth lead guitarist/producer Glen Drover in his private studio in Toronto. They have now recorded three albums together (Full Speed Metal EP 2009/ City Of Steel 2011/ Systematic Eradication 2013) Having toured Canada extensively for the last half decade, Untimely Demise has built a reputation as a go-to group for headlining dates, but also as support for metal legends such as Anvil, Skeletonwitch, Obituary, Death (DTA), Massacre, Suffocation, 3 Inches Of Blood, Into Eternity, Goatwhore, Evile, Death Angel, Pestilence, Aborted, Kataklysm, Toxic Holocaust, Gama Bomb, Bonded By Blood, Obscura, Abysmal Dawn, etc. The band has been well-received by metal and traditional media, earning impressive print reviews and features in UK’s Metal Hammer Mag, Terrorizer, Rock Hard Italy, Hard Rocker Mag (Poland/Czech Republic), BURNN! (Japan) as well as Decibel (US), Exclaim, etc. Among these accolades the band was nominated for a Sirius XM Canadian Independent Music Award for Metal Group of the Year in 2012. The thrash outfit has experienced a watershed year in 2014, touring Europe with Massacre in the spring and Western Canada on the Death, Obituary & Massacre ‘Swamp Leper Stomp 14’ Tour, as well as musical collaborations with Glen and Shawn Drover. The future is bright and heavy…
