WAITING FOR THE END TO COME is out now worldwide via Nuclear Blast Records. Order at http://bit.ly/kataklysm-wftetc.
The Canadian Hyperblasters KATAKLYSM formed in 1991 and spread their first demo one year later Death Gate Cycle Of Reincarnation already obtained recognition worldwide and ultimately led to a record deal with Nuclear Blast, signed in 1993. Demo plus bonus track ‘The Orb Of Uncreation’ became KATAKLYSM’s first official release in the form of the MCD The Mystical Gate Of Recreation, also in stores 1993.
The extreme high speed Death Metal with its very own character shown on The Mystical Gate Of Recreation laid the foundation stone of a new metal style: The Northern Hyperblast. Thereafter, KATAKLYSM presented their very first full length album Sorcery, a revelation concerning fast and brutal metal. The release of Temple Of Knowledge in 1996 topped Sorcery in terms of destructiveness and wrecking energy – a true archetype that bestowed the band great compliment, euphoric critics and several well-visited tours.
On the following albums Victims Of This Fallen World and The Prophecy KATAKLYSM started to experiment with new possibilities in sound and arrangements, leading the critics to name The Prophecy one of the most devastating releases in extreme music in years.
The big question afterwards: Would a further increase be possible? Yes, indeed! With Epic (The Poetry Of War), Canada’s finest created a classic, backed with a melodic edge and propelled by extreme roaring power, making KATAKLYSM’s star rising on and on. TV appearances and headliner tours pervaded the band’s life forward and took them to more than 19 countries all around the world.
In 2002, the release of Shadows & Dust continued KATAKLYSM’s success with nine immense ass-kicking tracks, including the extreme hymn ‘Illuminati.’ The Canadian magazine BW&BK described the album as “a pure holocaust of events as all the planets appear to have lined up for this scar on humanity” and voted it among the best 25 records of the year!
It wasn’t surprising when KATAKLYSM hit several top lists with Serenity In Fire, and now with their latest release In The Arms of Devastation, KATAKLYSM’s strongest evidence that the Death Metal freaks from Canada have found the receipt of success: Northern Hyperblast at terminal velocity!
The brand new album, PINNACLE OF BEDLAM, out now worldwide via Nuclear Blast Records! ORDER at http://bit.ly/sffpoblp
Few bands can be credited with creating a legacy, however, legendary New York based extreme metal outfit SUFFOCATION have done just that. For 20 years now SUFFOCATION have been creating music that has become the very standard by which we judge all things extreme.
Their fusion of technicality, groove and sheer unrelenting brutality has been imitated but never quite duplicated. Milestone records such as Effigy of the Forgotten, Pierced from Within, and Despise the Sun have influenced a wealth of today’s best musical talents. With the release of SUFFOCATION’s Nuclear Blast debut Blood Oath, their legacy of unrelenting and unique heaviness continues for perhaps the genres greatest band!
Formed in 1989, SUFFOCATION released their three-song demo, Re-incremation. Within weeks of its release came the interest of many record labels that wanted to claim stake to the first SUFFOCATION full-length album.
The band chose to release their follow-up, an EP entitled Human Waste, through Relapse Records in 1991. Human Waste saw SUFFOCATION bash out the beginnings of extreme metal’s most visible style, the New York combination of blasting grind-cord beats and metallic textures. But this was only the beginning.
In 1991, the now classic Effigy of the Forgotten (inducted into Decibel Magazine’s “Hall of Fame”) was released by Roadrunner Records. Effigy of the Forgotten brought SUFFOCATION and death metal to a new echelon, taking the multiple languages of music and unifying them in an evocative, thundering chorus of extreme metal.
In 1993, the band released their second full-length album, Breeding the Spawn, on Roadrunner Records. Breeding the Spawn surpassed expectations. This highly rhythmic album built on the legacy of their previous releases.
Following the release of 1995’s Pierced From Within on Roadrunner Records, SUFFOCATION embarked on massive tours of Europe, Canada, Mexico and the United States, playing to tens of thousands of fans.
In 1998, they released the EP Despise the Sun on Vulture Records and disbanded soon after. Extreme metal fans wept at the loss of one the genres greatest champions and pioneers. Eventually the EP was re-released in September 2000 and properly distributed by Relapse Records.
In 2003, SUFFOCATION reformed after a much needed break and in April 2004, Relapse Records released Souls to Deny. The group’s return was a truly devastating display of technical extreme metal. Over 400 shows and countless United States and European tours later (including the Wacken Festival in Germany, playing to over 33,000 fans), SUFFOCATION entered the studio to record the most mature and destructive album of their now legendary career. Suffocation, their 2006 self-titled release, again proved why they have solidly held their position as one of the most important and influential bands in the genre.
In 2008, the band signed a worldwide deal with Nuclear Blast Records and began working on material for their label debut. By 2009, SUFFOCATION had entered Full Force Studios once again with Joe Cincotta (Internal Bleeding, Criminal Element), who the band had worked with to record their two previous efforts. Zack Ohren (All Shall Perish, Decrepit Birth) was enlisted this time around for his mixing and mastering capabilities to capture the band’s ever-elusive live sound and intensity. The collaboration between all the parties involved has resulted in what is without a doubt their finest production to date! Add in the artwork and sick visualization of the Blood Oath concept by cult artist Jon Zig (Gorgasm, Deeds of Flesh) and you have the bands most complete all-around release yet.
In 2012 SUFFOCATION will chosen to be inducted into the Long Island Hall of Fame. They will be celebrated alongside such Long Island Music Legends like Billy Joel, Joan Jett, Twisted Sister and more. This is a huge accomplishment for SUFFOCATION as well as the genre they helped formed.
SUFFOCATION are currently in the finishing stages of their upcoming new album entitled Pinnacle of Bedlam. The record was produced by the band and tracked at Full Force Studios in New York by longtime collaborator Joe Cincotta. The mixing and mastering of the album is set to be handled this time around by world renowned producer/engineer Zeuss (HATEBREED, ARSIS, SUICIDE SILENCE). Pinnacle of Bedlam will feature 10 genre-defining-bone-crushing tracks and also marks the return of drummer Dave Culross, who played with the band previously on their Despise The Sun EP.
The new release is slated for February 2013 on Nuclear Blast Records. Visit http://www.facebook.com/suffocation for more information and all the latest news on the release. All hail the reigning kings of brutality!

Shots’ firing overhead, out of breath, thankful to be alive, an exhausted, courageous soldier takes cover in a nearby trench. Overcome with tragedy, the cadet looks down to carefully remove his worn down combat boots to discover his feet numb and blue, knocking him back with an overwhelming smell of decay and gangrene. This phenomenon is known as “jungle rot”. With a little imagination, visualize this horrifyingly grotesque predicament as it would be in heavy metal form – teeming with despair, brutality, darkness and volatility. The sinister picture you have just painted comes to life in four-piece death metal act JUNGLE ROT, who has been triumphantly destroying the metal scene since 1994.
Hailing from Kenosha, Wisconsin, JUNGLE ROT has steadily collected fans by the thousands since their 1995 demo release “Skin The Living”. Critics, blown away by their chillingly explosive live shows, rewarded the band with stellar reviews and were offered their first record deal with Pulverizer Records. Through new representation, the men released their first full-length project, “Slaughter The Weak” (1998) and were greeted by a tremendous amount of support from both the metal community and critics everywhere. Responding to a flood of new fans, the band rearranged their lineup, adapted their sound, produced new material, and began to dominate the Midwest tour circuit.
Now impossible to ignore, JUNGLE ROT inked a contract with Olympic Records in 2001, impressing the metal world with their slight hints of favorites, SLAYER and SODOM. A collection of their new material came to life in their 2001 release, “Dead And Buried”, leaving fans in awe with flawless, bass-heavy production and calculated, intricate riffing. Stunned by their aggressive melodies, fans demanded a headlining tour, which came to fruition in 2008, alongside WARMASTER, DOWNSWITCH, and WALKING CORPSE.
Fresh off of their wildly successful European tour, with thousands of new supports to boot, JUNGLE ROT signed a deal with Napalm Records in 2009. Having more than a decade of experience on their side, the band released “What Horrors Await” later that year, forcing metal heads to their knees, saluting their mastery of guitar distortion and growls were seemingly delivered from the deepest pits of Hell. Summoning their primal, innermost hatred, “What Horrors Await” brought hit after heavy hit, knocking down naysayers with one swift kick to the gonads. With fire in their eyes, JUNGLE ROT toured relentlessly across the world, proving the quality of their production matched their live performance, solidifying their spot as major players in the death metal scene.
Victory Records, intrigued by JUNGLE ROT’s brand of knuckle-dragging, Neanderthal death metal, welcomed the band to their roster in April 2011. Three short months later, the guys released “Kill On Command”, some of their heaviest material to date. Throwing down the gauntlet, they integrated slow stomp melodies into their speed-thrash style, bringing the band back to their death metal roots. Comprised of front-man Dave Matrise, drummer Jesse Beahler, bassist James Genenz and Geoff Bub, guitarist and backing vocalist, JUNGLE ROT was back with vengeance to “take back the scene we started” Matrise contends. Their years of hard work landed them on tours with many death metal legends such as DEICIDE, ENTOMBED, SIX FEET UNDER, VADER, OBITUARY, SUFFOCATION, GOATWHORE, CATTLE DECAPITATION and more.
Inspired and motivated by their fans’ continued support JUNGLE ROT will release their next album in early 2013. Ready to go to war, the band promises to vanquish the nonbelievers, showering them with waves of barbaric chanting and savagely powerful beats, until they raise their white flags of defeat. JUNGLE ROT will not be ignored. JUNGLE ROT will not be vanquished. JUNGLE ROT will not compromise. With no end in sight, it is clear that this case of JUNGLE ROT will continue to attack and decay anything and everything in its path. Ye have been warned; the era of muted metal will meet its end at the hands of JUNGLE ROT.

Formed in 1991, Internal Bleeding are pioneers of the style of death metal called “slam.” Their sound has paved the way for a whole generation of death metal and death-core bands who put heavy, groove laden riffs in the forefront of their music.
After a long hiatus to settle their post-Internal Bleeding careers, raise families and settle down a bit, the core of the classic lineup is back to play shows and write new material that will hopefully end up on a release.
Bourbon, Cigars, Death Metal, Road Trips, Meeting Fans and Friends and all things metal.
