Kara Golemba digs deep to draw strength from her roots. Having grown up and lived in cities across Western Canada, it took moving to small town Saskatchewan to find her voice and be able to succinctly portray her unique perspective on life and love. Through music, she is dedicated to exploring new realms of emotion, thoughtfulness, and compassion with her audience.
One hundred years ago, Allyson Reigh may very well have been a frequent face at rural concert halls or evening sing-a-longs on a neighbour’s back porch. A gifted songwriter, she was the 2012 winner of The Great Montreal Song Seach, beating out over 75 songwriters to claim the top prize. Since this time she has participated in songwriting workshops with Canadian favourite Fred Penner, had her music endorsed and published for choirs across North America in collaboration with 3-time Grammy winning conductor, Charles Bruffy, and has been climbing the folk charts with her band, Rosie & the Riveters. Most notably, her song, “Ain’t Gonna Bother”, reached the #5 spot on the CBC Radio 2 national top 20 in fall 2015.
