Despite The Reverance
Despite The Reverence was formed by Johnny Fast (guitarist) and Tom Liska (vocalist) in 2011. After performing in various hard rock and cover bands the two decided to set out on an original project. With the addition of drummer, Brad Zimmer, and bassist, Jordan Poelzer they began writing metal and rock inspired songs which developed into their first self-titled album, “Despite The Reverence” in April 2012. The album consisted of 10 tracks which were very melody based with elements of punk, rock and metal. With the release of this album the band was able to land 5 tracks in the motion picture soundtrack, Ferocious starring Kim Coates from Sons of Anarchy. The band continued writing in 2013 and released their second album, “Alien Intrinsic”, which is heavier and a richly composed science fiction concept album. In March 2017 Despite The Reverence released their third Album on Session 1 Records.
“Becoming The Savage” a concept album which explores the effects of the horrors of war. Fall 2017 UK Tour. Currently writing for 4th Album.

Firing At The Sky
Firing at the Sky is a harder edged rock band with groove/metal leanings and pop melodies.

Our songs range from straight driving rock to soul stirring grooves and emotional, melodic songs that come from the heart. Acoustic sections, followed by full on driven attack can be found on many tracks.

Lyrically, the approach is humanistic with thought provoking topics that people can insert themselves into or understand about the world around them.

We make a conscious effort to try and strike a chord with anyone willing to listen. Having something for everyone from light to heavy, hard rock, acoustic, groove, aggression, melody, rasp, happy, sad, pensive, and angry. Where the emotion takes you can speak to everyone on some level.

A four-headed monster spawns from a melting pot of cartoon backdrops, 8bit soundscapes and sonic guitar solos. It shambles along for the first few years of existence trying to find its purpose. Under a given name that it does not recognize as its own, it begins laying waste to the collective ears and stages of Western Canada with reckless abandon.
The monster, they say, is an amalgamation of the artists formerly known as Hellborn Death Engines, and is now known by it’s true and final form: Illyrian. Illyrian knows no boundaries and labels. It does not know about the current demands of the modern day heavy metal scene….but it does know itself, having absorbed two new brains in Jeff Perry (bass) and Darren May (drums), to join its original mad creators Scott Onofrychuk (guitar/vocals) and Brandon McNeil (guitar/vocals) in their eternal quest for world domination via thrash metal and weather dominators.
With a whole new collection of songs, the monster – the guitar blazin’, eyebrow raisin’, pie eatin’, mosh leadin’ monster – is set to unleash another opus upon the world.
Because if the world is truly overrun by humans…then they have work to do.
