Answering The Call: A Visual Exhibition of Local Protest at Persephone Theatre

January 12 @ 12:00 pm - January 14 @ 8:00 pm

Saskatchewan has a long history of local activism and support for international solidarity work. Answering the Call: Resistance at Home is a visual exhibition of local protest past and present that features an array of archival photos and vintage posters from solidarity movements dating back many years. It focuses on three areas of activism in our community and province: Peace and Global Solidarity; Indigenous Rights; and Labour and Farm Movements. It is a fitting compliment to our staged reading of The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (Staged Reading) by Bertolt Brecht, which parodies the rise of Hitler in 1930’s Germany and is Persephone’s response to political and social events in the world today. Admission to the exhibition is free to the public.
