The Faps, a Saskatoon-via-Moose Jaw indie noise duo, have unveiled the dates for a massive cross-Canada tour, which starts on March 11 in Regina.
The duo, comprised of best buds Blair Colwell and Skyler Cafferata, will be heading west before tackling the rest of Canada in May.
“We have Winnipeg and Toronto confirmed and potential gigs in Montreal, Peterborough, and Thunder Bay,” says Cafferata. “We’re hoping to make it all the way to Halifax, but might only get as far as Montreal. Either way, we’re ecstatic about traversing this awesome country and essentially being homeless for almost three months.”
The group also has designs on releasing a split 7″ EP later this year, which will also feature fellow Saskatoon noise-nuts Wizards.
“We were hoping to have it for tour, but turn-around ended up being much longer than anticipated,” says Cafferata. “We will likely have 50 cassette tapes in early March with the 7″ material exclusively for tour and promo.”
Those songs aren’t officially released yet, but Ominocity got a quick preview and we can attest that they are intensely weird – sort of like math rock for kids who were home schooled.
The Faps released their most recent EP Ded Lake in 2013.
