Indie rock cognoscenti rallies around Canadian artists
Well shoot. Ominocity had the congratulatory article pre-written and ready to post. We had beers chilling in the fridge. And we were all ready to administer a cyclone of handshakes and bum grabs. But alas, it was all for naught.
When the 2012 Polaris Prize Short List announcement dropped at 12pm CST on CBC’s Radio 3, Saskatoon’s Shooting Guns were nowhere to be found.
Regardless, when the band was added to the Long List it was huge. Like, Keith Doepker massive elephant hand riffs huge!
The band made an official statement shortly after the announcement via Twitter, with several people rallying around them in support.
Would have been cool, but we can all look forward to next year when you crush everyone with your next album, right?
