Fact: Dance parties are better on weekdays
Last week Edmonton’s Born Gold came crashing through Saskatoon and stirred up quite the Thursday evening dance party (and Friday morning hangovers). But you couldn’t catch Born Gold at your usual Broadway Avenue bar. Instead the weirdo-electro group toured North America in support of their new album I Am An Exit by performing only at house parties.
An art project in itself, the tour saw Cecil Frena’s noise-pop outfit performing in everything from Florida mansions to the dingiest of basements in an effort to destroy the audience-performer divide. The high-energy show featured a lot of flashing lights, glowing hands rising up from the ground and the most badass leather jacket I’ve ever seen.
Thanks to the tenants at The Heck for opening up their house for the party!
