Let’s rock the streets on Park(ing) Day!
Ominocity will be participating in Saskatoon Park(ing) Day in a big way! Park(ing) Day is an annual worldwide event held on Friday, September 21st where artists, designers and citizens transform metered parking spots into temporary public parks.
In Saskatoon, Park(ing) Day installations will be set up on Broadway and in Riversdale. 20th Street will be redesigned into a sustainable, bike-friendly complete street where community and business thrive. A public square will be created in the parking lot at 20th and Ave B which will feature live music, movie screenings, food trucks, art exhibitions, yoga classes and popup retail stores. The Two Twenty will even be hosting a party with a loaded bar across the street that evening!
Ominocity has been asked to help book bands for the public square in Riversdale and we’ll also be setting up our own Park(ing) Day installation adjacent to it where we’ll drag our infamous red couch out of our office and into the street and host an unplugged “open stage”.
If you’d like to rock out with us on Park(ing) Day, we’ll be looking for performers to join us at noon and throughout the evening. Please email us at [email protected] to get in touch with us.
Saskatoon Park(ing) Day will run from 10am to midnight and is a free, family-friendly event.
