RECAP: Numerous Saskatoon bands release new music on same day

Shooting Guns, economics, Little Criminals and more release new singles in advance of upcoming albums

Hopefully this didn’t pass you by, but a whole bunch of new music just got released from several Saskatoon bands yesterday. And for the most part it’s all in advance of several upcoming albums.

Spoiler alert: 2015 is going to be the year that Saskatoon’s music scene crushes the world.

Shooting Guns – “Spy in the Sky”

First up, local hirsute heavy-hitters Shooting Guns dropped a track “Spy in the Sky” from the upcoming Wolfcop soundtrack release, which is due out next week.

economics – “Renegades”

economics similarly dropped a new track from his upcoming LP The Wastes, which is due out on October 28. Spooky! The track, titled “Renegades”, features vocals from Brendan Flaherty. Spooky!

Little Criminals – “You Smell Like Lies”

Yesterday we brought you news that indie folk duo Little Criminals released a new single in advance of their new album Inclement Weather, which is being released this Thursday, Sept. 11.

Slow Down Molasses – “Summer Sun”

Indie rock/noise collective Slow Down Molasses also dropped the song “Summer Sun” from their upcoming album Burnt Black Cars, which is reportedly due in early 2015.

Close Talker – “Heads”

Close Talker is also gearing up for a whole bunch of touring, and have unveiled their song “Heads” in advance of releasing Flux EP, out November 4th via Nevado.
