Regina’s The Spoils Added to OMFEST 2

Queen City Bass and Drum duo to take the stage at Amigos on March 2

The Spoils, a pounding bass and drum indie rock duo from Regina, have been added to this year’s OMFEST 2.

Featuring ex-members of Sylvie and Tomorrow Starts Today, The Spoils have managed to carve out a spot in their local scene despite their relative newness, says front woman Riva Racette.

“We have been a band since August and have managed to write a set’s worth of songs – we need to keep riding that wave,” she says. “When people start the ‘one more song’ at the end of our set, we have to explain that it’s all we got.

“Our first show was four weeks after we became a band,” she continues. “Dustin found out when he saw our name on a poster. At the time we only had two songs written. More songs were written in record time.”

The Spoils plan on releasing a 7″ EP this summer, and if their demos are any indication of the sounds they will be making live, it’s gonna be loud and grimy.
